Trosper said the initial AP story on the death contains flaws and errors. That means it's possible that the AP's claim, based on an anonymous source, that he had the word "fed" scrawled on his chest could be false. Asked if that were the case, Trosper declined to comment.
Errr... So, is it possible this is a simple suicide that AP got a hold of and blew out of proportion? Well, we ALL know that AP would NEVER run with a story before checking it out just because it fit a preconception of reality to which they adhered. Specifically; right-wing radicals starting a "second civil war." Right? ...? Bueller...? Bueller...?

Census Hanging Not a Hanging? Apparently the worker's feet were touching the ground, but the official cause of death was asphyxiation... So, what then? The murderers hang the census worker until dead, then they untie the rope, lower the body slightly, retie the rope, and leave? Also, no updates from the cops on exactly how "fed" was "scrawled" across his chest. Cops also said meth labs are very prominent in that area, but the area is far from the worker's census area. Meth heads killing a census worker who happened upon their lab and then hanging the body is much more likely than rural folk doing the same, but if so, why lower the body???
All the delivery of information on this case has been very disjointed and halting. Just adds to the oddness of this case.

Lots of suicides are found with their feet touching the ground, just ask any cop who has responded to a "bad odor" complaint with a surprise at the end. Ropes tend to stretch after a time.
