Obama wouldn't be "outraged" if he had read it before signing it.

I'd be more inclined to share Obama's OUTRAGE!!!!111ONE if it weren't for the fact that the bill included a provision which specifically said the bonuses were allowed...
Dodd added an executive-compensation restriction to the bill. The provision, now called "the Dodd Amendment" by the Obama Administration provides an "exception for contractually obligated bonuses agreed on before Feb. 11, 2009" -- which exempts the very AIG bonuses Dodd and others are now seeking to tax.

So Dodd adds the provision which basically says, "if you've got a contract with the company that says you get a bonus, you get a bonus!" AIG execs then get their bonuses, and then OH TEH NOES! LOOK AT TEH BONSUSUS! WE GOTTA STOP THIS INJUSTIS! So who stands up and demands that this be undone? None other than Dodd him-fucking-self.

Is it any wonder we're in this mess in the first place?

No bonuses for Congress either - in fact they should have their wages garnished.
