Pro-gun article from the BBC

UPDATE: Whoops, this is a bit old. Still good though. This revelation is almost a year old, imagine what they could have accomplished in that year? Oh bugger.

No, really...

America's 'safety catch'
Despite the fact there are more than 200 million guns in circulation, there is a certain tranquility and civility about American life.

The author begins talking about the incidence of violence and accidents with guns in America, but winds up talking about how surprisingly peaceful it is. Particularly compared to Britain.
Brits arriving in New York, hoping to avoid being slaughtered on day one of their shopping mission to Manhattan are, by day two, beginning to wonder what all the fuss was about. By day three they have had had the scales lifted from their eyes.

There are fiddly bits in the article that I'm not going to get into, because I have no interest in looking a gift horse in the mouth. The author seems to be genuinely surprised things are so peaceful here despite there being 90 guns per 100 people. (instead of being so peaceful BECAUSE we have 90 guns per 100 people)

Baby steps right? They'll come around. We have the facts on our side, and you can only argue with facts for so long.

From CalGuns, where the discussion gets interesting.
