Slow month for the company awards

Every month we have an award for the employee who goes "above and beyond the call of duty." Some months the nominees are obvious, others... not so much.

Last month was one of those "not so much" ones. It was a three-way tie. One engineer for a tough problem, another engineer for staying late at a customer, and me for getting a haircut.

I'll probably put the money toward future haircuts.

I'd probably be more put-off if I didn't have $35 in my pocket.

It would be like getting a Senior Discount when you are 45--you want to be offended but you just saved 10%. Take the money and run.

We got Senior Discounts when we were on Kauai last year (or so) for being 50!
