Crime rate plummeted after law required firearms for residents
In March 1982, 25 years ago, the small town of Kennesaw – responding to a handgun ban in Morton Grove, Ill. – unanimously passed an ordinance requiring each head of household to own and maintain a gun. Since then, despite dire predictions of "Wild West" showdowns and increased violence and accidents, not a single resident has been involved in a fatal shooting – as a victim, attacker or defender.
Its... uh... probably just a coincidence...

You know, Anon? Sometimes when I get bored, I like to look up SIX YEAR OLD posts on random blogs that are pro-gun success stories, and shit on their parade with data that wasn't available at the time of the post.
Then after that, I like to post links to one single instance where anti-gun legislation has not yet produced in increase in murders. Like Morton Grove, and the Assault Weapons Ban, but when I do so, I'm sure not to provide any other relevant data such as existing crime trends or other changes which might affect the numbers.
The reason I do this is because my side is LOSING. BADLY. And is getting so desperate that I probably get paid to do exactly what I said, but it's probably only a few pennies per post.
Or maybe, I'm really doing it out of my own personal convictions, which, while admirable, are absolutely, provably, unequivocally WRONG. Because I could fight honestly and passionately for 2+2=5, but the facts are still against me, along with a vast preponderance of test cases, and just common sense.
It wouldn't make me right, but it would still make me stupid.
