I shall never understand the projection of regret over big life choices. Do those people not realize how revealing it is?
Besides, you make choices every day. Over easy or sunny-side-up, this radio station or that, coke or pepsi, marriage or bachelorhood. The notion that you are perpetually uninformed, and incapable of making the "correct" decision must be a mania of some sort.
We choose our eggs every morning, and our sodas every lunch. And we do it without sighing at our coke wistfully, wondering what could have been.
The best anyone can do is give the decision honest thought, and unbiased consideration. No one claims to be perfect or infallible. We all operate in reality, and reality is an imperfect place. Hindsight is 20/20, but letting fear of making the wrong decision prevent you from making the right one is wrong in itself.
