Because of this, I need a capable business phone. After a short search, (I hate shopping for phones) I've narrowed the search to the Blackberry Bold, or the iphone, favoring the Bold. (heh, "...favors the bold")
I've begun looking at some comparison reviews, and think I've got a pretty good feel for 90% of them.
The Bold is pretty good, but the iphone is better. Because it's innovative, and cool, and different, andmade by appleit's just better.
To be fair, most of the reviews are positive for both, but the reasons given for the iphone being "just as good" are things like, "It just feels better," "It's designed better," "It fits my hand better," and "It's just more intuitive."
I'm not sure if this is because the reviewers honestly think the iphone is all these things, or if it's just because they don't want to piss off the fanboys who watch their videos or read their iphone-leaning comparisons while masturbating furiously.
Ok, ok, that was a cheap shot.

I just today got a chance to really play with an iphone, and to its credit, the touch interface is so fucking perfect it's amazing. Does exactly what you want it to do, where you want to do it. You just put it in your hand, and GO. It's truly impressive.
But just as with every other Apple product, by dumbing down the interface to the lowest common denominator, you lose the higher functionality of what is a really powerful device.
I'll probably be going for the Bold, and knowing that I might have to eat my words later, I think it's the smarter choice for what I want it for.
Hmm... This is the first post about the formation of my consultantcy company, and I don't think I have a good tag for it. I was going to use "work" but that doesn't seem to apply, nor (technically) does "selfemployment." I'll use this one for now, and may change it later.

Stupid move. Any other time, it would be a challenging move. Right now, it's near impossible. At least move to a state that's more business friendly. Such as ANY OTHER ONE!
With THE ONE still in office, it's a fair bet that you're going to get stuck hard with that tax stick too. I ain't your Pop or nuthin, but my advice is that you wait.
I would take the time to explain the entirety of my reasoning for this decision, but I feel like the following sums up my ideas more succinctly;
Don't tell me what I can't do.

I'm tired of waiting for the perfect time, and I'm tired of the "experts" telling me what I should do, and when I should do it.

As for phones, I have a Sony phone because it's designed better than an old Samsung one I had before - Sony usually does a bang-up design job. I don't know much about Apple having never been able to afford one. But I feel Like I Know ALL About the peeps though, being local legends and shit - Steve and Woz up from the Poverty of and Bandness of Wonderbread Sunnyvale. Because Jobs bought a Miele vacuum from a buddy of mine downtown, and he used to live in a house next-door to where another HS stoner-buddy once lived. Palo Alto *IS* snoot and smug to incredible levels, marinated in a greasy sauce of affluent Democrat wise-guy self-assurance. IMO more than Pasadena (for example?) could ever be because of its hot-house liberal intellectual environment - which is why I have always resisted the intolerable smugness of Apple products. But: we have an older 30GB iPod my wife and I share on trips - bought at Costco, it's the one concession.
You'll be fine, regardless of the soil you're on.
Smart people with an entrepreneurial itch developing good connections will always find success.
