Overheard at work
Coworker: Where's the Linux agent? Me: Same place the Mac agent was. On the FTP site. Coworker: I don't see it. Oh wait, is it the dot tar? Me: Yep. Good old tarball. Is it gee zipped? Coworker: Nope. Just tar'ed Me: Heh... 'tard.
In a "previous life" tarballs were a rather important part of our internal functions as a company. They were referred to often enough that one Saturday while I was working on a rush job and the CEO was in the office he finally asked me what the heck that name meant.
It was kinda fun explaining how the term came about to a dude that was much older than me.
